AH and Port of Everett Present Training on 2014 Open Government Acts

On June 11, 2014 Anderson Hunter and the Port of Everett presented a complementary seminar discussing the new requirements of the 2014 Open Public Meetings Act and the Open Public Records Acts, as well as case law updates and a panel discussion of common issues that arise on open government structure.

Public and quasi-entities such as counties, cities, utility districts, and ports are all subject to the Open Public Meetings and Records Acts, which are intended to bring transparency and access to the public in the processes and decisions of governing/legislative bodies. Penalties for non-compliance can be significant and costly.
